Climate research and monitoring

The Climate Resilience Research Initiative funds scientific research to help communities prepare for and adapt to the impacts of climate change.

Research Priorities

  • Coastal flooding and sea level rise adaptation
  • Extreme heat event preparedness
  • Drought resilience and water conservation
  • Wildfire risk reduction and forest management
  • Infrastructure vulnerability assessment

Application Process

Proposals are accepted from universities, research institutions, state agencies, and qualified nonprofit organizations. A technical review panel evaluates proposals based on scientific merit, relevance, and feasibility.
